The present day St. Xavier's School at Shahbad - Daulatpur had a small beginning in 1966 in Shakti Nagar. In 1967 the School moved to a more spacious building in Model Town. The school at Shahbad - Daulatpur was started in 1972. The Jesuits took over the management of the school in 1990. The new building was completed and the school moved into the present Premises on 1st May, 1998. The CJ Sisters have been helping us out in our educational endeavour, since 2006. They take care of the ordinary administrative responsibilities of the Junior School, The integrated School model is followed here and hence, besides the formal school, we have a Vocational Training Institute, a National Institute of Open Schooling an afternoon coaching programme .
St. Xavier's School is a Christian Minority school under the management of the Society of Jesus, an international Christian Religious Order. The school is recognized by the Board of Education, Delhi Administration and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the All India Secondary School Examination (Class X) and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII). Jesuits The Society of Jesus (popularly known as the Jesuits), founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540, has been active in the field of education throughout the world since its origin. In India, the Jesuits are at present responsible for 128 High Schools, 25 Colleges and 10 Technical Institutions. Besides, the Jesuits have 5 Social Institutes; 5 Labour and Management Institutes; 6 Centres of Scientific Research in disciplines like Botany and History; 5 Dialogue Centres to promote communal harmony and collaboration; and innumerable programmes of Adult and Non-formal Education. In all these, and a variety of other fields of activity, over 3,000 Jesuits and their 10,000 collaborators from all religions and ethnic backgrounds, shape and mould the lives of over 3 lacks of young people belonging to every social class, community and linguistic group through the medium of ten regional languages and English.
