At this stage, the focus is on facilitating development of the student's cognitive and motor skills and on providing the required exposure to children to pursue their natural curiosity and imagination in a stimulating and exciting environment. The core program of studies is enriched with art, dance, music, other interesting scholastic and co-scholastic activities, thereby ensuring experiential learning.
Our Sr.KG program focuses on six major domains of development i.e: Language development, Cognitive development, Socio- Emotional Development, Fine motor development, Gross motor development, Creative Development. The Curriculum & Activities are designed specifically studying the age criteria of the child by our curriculum development team as per the developmental milestones of the child and also by observing their grasping powers and behaviors towards activities.
In preschool, physical development plays a crucial role in shaping a child's overall growth and abilities. Through a balance of gross motor and fine motor activities, preschoolers are given opportunities to refine their coordination, strength, and dexterity. Gross motor activities, such as running, jumping, and climbing, not only promote cardiovascular health but also enhance muscle development and spatial awareness. These activities are often incorporated into outdoor playtime, allowing children to explore their physical capabilities in a safe and engaging environment. Meanwhile, fine motor activities focus on the manipulation of small objects and precise movements, such as drawing, threading beads, and using scissors. These tasks help to improve hand-eye coordination, finger strength, and control, laying the foundation for future tasks like writing and self-care. By providing a diverse range of physical activities tailored to their developmental stage, preschools support children in building a strong and healthy body while fostering confidence and independence.
Preschool plays a pivotal role in nurturing children's social and emotional skills, laying a solid foundation for their overall development. In these formative years, children engage in various activities that encourage cooperation, empathy, and communication with their peers and teachers. Through group play, structured activities, and guided interactions, preschoolers learn essential social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and resolving conflicts peacefully. Additionally, educators create a supportive environment where children feel valued and respected, fostering a sense of belonging and emotional security. By recognizing and managing their own emotions and understanding the feelings of others, preschoolers develop crucial emotional intelligence skills that are instrumental in building healthy relationships and navigating social situations effectively. These early experiences in preschool not only prepare children for academic success but also equip them with vital lifelong skills essential for their social and emotional well-being.
Creative expression is a cornerstone of preschool education, offering young children opportunities to explore and communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through various forms of art, play, and imagination. In preschool, children are encouraged to engage in open-ended activities such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and dramatic play, allowing them to express themselves freely and creatively. Through these experiences, children learn to experiment with different materials, colors, and textures, fostering their curiosity and imagination. Moreover, creative expression in preschool promotes critical thinking skills as children problem-solve and make decisions about their creations. It also enhances their communication abilities as they learn to convey ideas and emotions through visual and symbolic means. By embracing creative expression, preschoolers not only develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them but also lay the groundwork for a lifelong appreciation of art and creativity.
